Hi! My name is Mika, and I’m brains behind Froggy Girl Designs. I’m a work from home mama of 5 kiddos (ages 3-12), and I’m married to the love of my life.
I taught myself to sew about 4 years ago, when I was pregnant with my youngest son. Overly ambitious from the start, my first project was window quilts for our 6 foot tall windows. Doesn’t sound too bad right? Well, I was making them out of 1.5″ squares. Crazy huh? Those window quilts never did get finished….
My focus quickly turned to childrens clothing, raising my 4th boy, I was sick of the “same ole, same ole” that was available commercially. So I started making my own, and then started passing it on to you-because I figured other people wanted cute, affordable, quality clothing that wasn’t the same as 100 other kids were wearing.
I’m a firm believer in getting your moneys worth out of an item, so you will find that every single item that leaves my sewing room is made with the utmost care and diligence. Seams are sewn, then serged and many times topstitched for durability-overkill? Maybe. But I want anything you get from me to be worn, and loved, and passed down from child to child. With that in mind, you will find my styles to be more classy than flashy, with an eye towards keeping our children as children.
