So my internet has been acting up for a few weeks now, and late last week it decided to just give up the ghost. Not sure what’s going on, but man you don’t realize how much you use the internet until it’s not there. I’ve had these wierd bugs on my squash and no way to look them up. Criminal I tell you. So what have I been doing instead? How about some pictures?
We recently discovered that underneath the nasty cream carpet in our house, are these gorgeous hardwoods. Initially I was afraid they’d be majorly damaged or something but once it was all done (except a few places under heavy furniture…need the husband’s help for that!), they’re in fabulous condition! Once we get it DONE, I’ll do a whole post about it.
See, we even put the toddlers to work. Gotta earn your lunch around here! LOL!
We found a spot where the chickens have been hiding their eggs and found this. Haven’t found any there since. We know they’re somewhere…just don’t know where.
Lots of this. Always lots of this.
Ree had her first french braid. I’m not great at it yet, been out of practice for years! She liked it though, and that’s what matters.
A custom flannel pj set for a customer. This was the last I had of this space themed flannel and I’m kind of sad. It’s so wonderful for older boys who are past the “puppy dogs” stage.
Making a ton of Froglets! Some of these are for orders, and some are stock building for a big show next month. I think they look so pretty all lined up like this!
Last but not least, last night Jacob had his awards ceremony for baseball. This was his first year playing an organized team sport, and I’m so proud of him! He improved ALOT, and won an award for “Most Determined Player”. I have to agree with that one!
So, what have YOU been up to this week? Anything exciting?

The floors look amazing!!
I got the book Artisan bread in 5 mins a day and a pizza peel for my birthday so I’ve been learning to make yummy bread…
oh, and gaining weight LOL
Oh I LOVE bread..it’s my kryptonite. I’d gain more weight too if I used that!!
Bugs on the squash are probably squash vine borers, they decimated my squash and pumpkins this year. I had to go pull them all yesterday.
No squash vine borers that I’ve seen, although I seriously could have missed them thinking it was just the heat killing off my plants (just pulled 3 out this morning, may have to pull more
). But one of the 2 bugs I’m having issues with are oddly enough called “Squash bugs” lol. The 2nd ones at this link http://www.ca.uky.edu/entomology/entfacts/ef314.asp. I’ve been hitting them with a dishsoap/water spray and it’s helping but those eggs are IMPOSSIBLE to get off the leaves! The other one I’ve had issues with is the Squash beetle. YUCK!
The floors are gorgeous! Almost makes me bold enough to pull back the carpet on mine and see what’s under there. Almost. (I’d never have that kind of luck…would I?)
Our chickens do that too, lay eggs in a secret place and then abandon it as soon as you find it. It’s a perpetual Easter egg hunt. :s
Ree = adorable.
Yay for Jacob!
At least you had an good reason for not blogging. Glad to see you back!
Find an inconspicuous corner (maybe in a closet, or near a heat vent?) and pull up a bit to see. For us, the closets weren’t carpeted so we could see the hardwood there, but I was afraid that they’d done something silly like glued the pad down or something in the rest of the house. So far so good! Bedrooms will be done next (just as soon as I convince hubby lol).
Awesome floors! And man, the more I hear about chickens… *g*
What on earth was the person who put that carpet down *thinking*?!?
That’s what I said!!! Buying floors like this is $$$$ so I’m SO glad we got them for “free”! LOL!
