The Froggy Girl is flinging some fat!

That’s right, after 30 years of thinking about it, I’m finally taking the plunge. Today I embark on my first ever diet, and first ever exercise regimen. I’ve always been a little plump, but after I had Jacob (he’s 10 now) I kind of naturally lost down to a weight that was more acceptable to me. Not skinny mind you, but less chubby than I had been. My weight has fluctuated back and forth over a decade of childbearing, but now that we’re done having children and I’m looking middle age in the nose (ACK! Seriously? I still feel like a teenager most of the time!), it’s time to take better care of myself.
We’re launching the Fat Fling 2010 over on Stuff to Love today, a month long bonanza of finally brushing off our WiiFit’s and USING them. I’m SO excited! Our goal for May is just to lose 5 pounds, but I’m really hoping to do better than that.
I’ve started trying to track my food intake on Sparkpeople and DailyBurn as well. Why both? Well, because I’ve never done this before, and have heard good things about both sites, so I figured I’d try them both and see what works best. I’ve also thought about trying the Weight watcher’s points program as it seems like it will work with my brain better, but I’m trying the free routes first. Has anyone else tried both and have any feedback for me?
Now, for the down and dirty honesty. I’m really embarrassed about this so go easy on me! My weight as of this morning’s WiiFt session is 185.5 lbs. I am 4′11″. I am obese. This is my highest weight in a LONG time (since I got pregnant with Jacob), and I feel it. I know I’m comfortable in my skin around 135, so that’s my first long term goal. The Wii says I should weigh 109, which makes me laugh, I think I’d be a stick at that weight!!! But if I could get to 120-125, I’d be thrilled to no end.
So if you wanna fling some fat with me, come on over and join in the fun! I’m really excited to do this-we have a ton of giveaways and stuff to do this month, and I’m really hoping that doing it together with someone else will help me really do this. The WiiFit just proved that I am SOOOO out of shape, and I don’t want to be that way. I want to live a long HEALTHY life, and this is step 1.
